Ham-azing & pork-tastic!
Following the fall of Moorish Granada in 1492, the Catholic Monarchs immediately issued the Alhambra Decree which easily enabled Christians to distinguish themselves from those who avoided pork for religious reasons, by declaring that pork products be openly displayed and consumed from breakfast, lunch and dinner!
And this is the simple reason why jamón, chorizo, and other pork dishes feature so prominently in Spanish cuisine today!
- Morning tour Jamon Serrano & Iberico tasting.
